There are many opportunities to become involved with Hospice Hearts. Volunteers are primarily needed to foster cats and dogs, provide transportation around Illinois, and support special events.
Foster homes are always needed for Hospice Hearts. The more foster homes we have, the more pets we can serve. Foster homes must live within one hour of Champaign-Urbana. Fostering an orphan generally is a two to six week commitment.
As a foster home, we provide you with the necessary supplies, including food, and you provide the love and attention, plus transportation to our veterinarian for exams and treatment.
Assistance with transportation is vital to the functioning of Hospice Hearts. We frequently need transportation from various shelters and animal controls around the state to Champaign-Urbana.
Volunteers are also needed to help staff various fundraisers and adoption events in the area. These events are typically a one-time commitment on an as-needed basis in the Champaign-Urbana area.
